Welcome to my website

I am a PhD candidate at the Erasmus Research Centre for Media, Communication and Culture (ERMeCC). My current research concerns research the sources and diffusion of innovation among artists and creative workers, and my dissertation is part of the NWO funded project Cultures of Innovation in the Creative Industries (CICI). As a historian and sociologist with a strong interest in urban issues, I study these practices of innovation in the context of urban policies, heritage studies, cultural sociology and field research. I am also a lecturer in the International Bachelor in Communication and Media and the premaster’s programme in Media Studies.

This website provides information regarding the CICI project, my research, (guest) lectures and publications.

3rd International Research Conference on the Cultural and Creative Industries

On May 23 2014, I presented, together with my colleagues Erik Hitters and Pawan Bhansing, the preliminary findings of the CICI project on the 3rd International Research Conference on the Cultural and Creative Industries in Antwerp, Belgium. The Creative Jumbers team of the Antwerp Management School nicely summarised and discussed our findings. You can find our PowerPoint presentation below.
